Readers will admit that on Thursday 6th October 2022, the NDC labelled the government’s commitment to fighting galamsey as a “scam”.
It is an undeniable fact that President Nana Addo’s visit to the Ashanti Region to meet the traditional authorities has intensified the public debate concerning the President’s posture.
TV3 Ghana has posted the picture of former President John Dramani Mahama on its heavily followed social media platform. The post was about comments made by Mr Suleimana Braimah about the former President.
In a sharp reaction to the public discussions, Mr Suleimana Braimah, the executive director of the Media Foundation for West Africa has revealed that the NDC has no basis to cast the blame on the NPP.
Suleiman explained that former President John Mahama exploited the galamsey issue to earn votes for himself in the 2020 elections. He mentioned that the galamsey fight requires the fight of all.
Interestingly, Mr Suleiman Braimah described former president John Mahama as being partisan and not patriotic in the fight against the galamsey.
Well, a former deputy minister of Information, Felix Kwakye Ofosu has responded to Braimah’s comments as he asked how former president John Mahama’s call for amnesty for jailed galamseyers contributes to political exploitation.
According to Felix Ofosu Kwakye, Braimah has completely misunderstood Mahama’s call.
Many Ghanaians have reacted to the ongoing public discussion as some Ghanaians have passed interesting remarks about Suleiman Braimah.
Is Suleiman Braimah right for making such comments about former president John Mahama?
What are your thoughts on the ongoing discussion?
