Nana Kwabena Sarbeng also the Krontihene of Manso Takoroase, explains why he has decided not to allow his sisters to work in his shop again. According to the chief, he lived with his stepmother for many years before he located his biological mother in Takoroase. Nana Kwabena said his mother’s house was not good enough for him, so he bought a land and built a house for his mother.
A few years later he married his wife and he built four shops on his late father’s land and started working in together with his wife. The two work together to support each other and their kids. Unfortunately his wife died four years ago but after the late wife funeral rites, his sisters came to tell him that they also wanted to stay in the room he has built and start working in one of his shop.
Nana Kwabena claimed that he didn’t allow his siblings to sell in the shop because they sold part of the family land but did not give him part of the money they got. The chief continued his siblings didn’t give the needed respect but continued to stay in the room he built with his own money and also started selling in the shop. Nana Kwabena said he will not allow his sisters to work in the store anymore because he built the store without their help.
According to the chief’s sisters, they used the money they received from the sale of the family land to help their brother to organize his wife’s funeral. In addition, Nana Kwabena sold most of their family’s land and property and spend the money without sharing it among themselves after he was enstooled as the Krontihene of their town. The sister again said they will continue to work in shop because the land belongs to the family.
