Upper West regional minister, Dr Hafiz Bin Salih has declared his support for the Vice president Dr Mahamadu Bawumia to lead the party in the upcoming 2024 general elections.
Ahead of the party’s presidential primaries, the minister said he wants the vice President Dr Mahamadu Bawumia to be their flag bearer because he is the only match for the National Democratic Congress.
The minister today in an interview with Home Radio disclosed Dr Mahamadu Bawumia has build his grounds well being veep for two consecutive times so it will be very easy for him to become the president.
The minister made this revelation and debunked the viral claims of his ambition to become a member of parliament for the region.
“I have no intention of going to the parliament. I only want to serve in an elected party position or appointment. I don’t have any interest to go to parliament today or tomorrow.
But it is my prayer for the vice President Dr Mahamadu Bawumia to win the primaries and become our flag bearer. He will be able to win against the national democratic congress easily so that we all support for the growth of the Upper West region. Dr Bin Salih said.
Meanwhile, the vice President Dr Mahamadu Bawumia is among other top New Patriotic Party favourites the member of parliament for Assin Central, Hon Kennedy Agyapong, Minister for trade and industry, Alan Kyeremateng who will be contesting for the Flagbearership position going to 2024 elections
