At the just ended ‘Global Citizen Festival’ which was held in Ghana at the Independence Square, there have been rumors and questions all over why Shatta Wale wasn’t billed to perform on the show.
The show was a massive one which a lot of people attended. Artists like Sarkodie, Stonewoy, Gyakie, and many other international and local artists graced the show.
Despite Shatta Wale not being there, his songs were played and the crowd couldn’t get enough of it. They were singing word for word of the songs and were happily jamming to the good tunes of the African Dancehall King
The interesting part was that it was that, particularly part of the show that caught the attention of many and questioned the organizers why they didn’t bill Shatta Wale to perform.
On the ‘Good Evening Ghana’ show, Mark Okraku Mantey the Deputy Minister of Creative Arts was asked why Shatta Wale wasn’t billed to perform he couldn’t give any tangible reason.
“The Fans Were Craving For Shatta Wale, if you see the atmosphere there it was missing Shatta Wale and the fans keep asking where he wasn’t billed to perform but Global Citizen dictates this decision itself” Okraku answered
When the host went ahead to ask him if the show is happening in our country why can’t we also make some suggestions?
“You know every event has its own objectives, missions, aims and so sometimes because of what they want to do they sometimes check certain things maybe like the language of the artist and many others before they bill an artist” He continued
According to the Deputy Minister of Creative Arts, certain factors are put into consideration before an artist is billed to perform.
