Dennis Miracles Aboagye had revealed that the government concluded a technical committee meeting of the Inter-Ministerial Coordinating Committee on Decentralisation, an important preparation for the main IMCC meeting chaired by H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
The committee made up of the Chief Directors of the 11 critical sector ministries in a consensus reviewed and approved the 2021 Progress report of the National Decentralisation Policy and Strategy with a firm conviction that, the government is on track but must accelerate the process.
A clear and concise work plan for 2023 has been developed with each sector committing to its implementation once it’s approved and passed by the IMCCoD.Â
In a single chorus, all sectors agree that decentralization is an alternative development strategy, and devolution of all relevant sectors must be done as soon as possible to speed up development at the local government level.
Mr. President is committed and has shown the way, sector technical people are committed. Now we need citizen participation to make this a reality. Let’s all get involved. Slowly but steadily we shall rise.
