Vice President of IMANI Africa, Selorm Branttie has asserted that soon Galamseyers will be weaponized to take over parts of Ghana before the National Security tackles the real problem.
In a post shared on his official Facebook page on Sunday, 2nd October 2022, he wrote;
“You see the same chiefs looking on for galamsey to take over their land? Their cousins and brothers will also sell the land. Then there will be factions, and fights, and vigilantes will pop up, eventually they will control the land and have more firepower than the chiefs.”
He added that they will have their private armies, and then they will run the streets. Selorm further warned that by the time national security finishes spying on us and bullying us on social media to tackle the real problems, they will be weaponized to take parts of the country for themselves.
The Vice President of IMANI Ghana further warned that by the time the party that wants galamsey money to chase votes is aware, there will be no democracy to even campaign in.
The comments of Selorm Branttie comes in wake of the ongoing images of galamsey sites that has emerged on social media. Many people have complained of how their forest and rivers are being destroyed by galamsey.
