In an interview with Accra FM host Nana Romeo, Mr Mensah, a Ghanaian based in America has revealed how Nigerian artists make themselves relevant and sustain their supremacy outside the shores of the country musically.
He emphasized that he has seen Davido pay DJs at nightclubs to play exclusively his music. He claimed to have seen Nigerian superstar Davido giving the DJ enormous sums of money and paying for all the food and beverages at the pub in exchange for the DJ playing just his songs.
“I was at the American Nightclub when I noticed Davido confronting the DJ and beseeching with him to put his songs on rotation.”
“The moment Davido arrived at the Nightclub, he offered the DJ a huge sum of money and paid for all the food and drinks at the nightclub in order for the DJ to play only his songs, causing the clubgoers to excitedly take over the dance floor.” Mr Mensah finished.
