Former General Secretary of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Obiri Boahen says last Saturday’s booing incident should serve as a basis for self-introspection for the government to take steps to better their lives for the citizenry.
He says the cold reception President Akufo-Addo received at the Global Citizen Festival should rather encourage the president to continue to do his best for the country and not demoralize him.
President Akufo-Addo was booed when he mounted the Global Citizen Festival stage held at the Black Star Square on Saturday, September 24, 2022.
He added that incidents like what the President was subjected to was normal as political leaders will not always have people singing their praises.
“Nana Addo should relax. He will think about it though. He must tell himself that is a man. Even though I’m saying this, he must do self-introspection and not be demoralized.
“He should stand firm like a man. NPP members must also stand firm and not be cowed. Whether it is NDC or other parties, NPP as a party must do self-introspection too”, he stated.
Nana Obiri Boahen said this in an interview with Accra-based Okay FM on Wednesday, September 28, 2022.
