Host of TV3 New Day show, Johnnie Hughes has reacted to some calls telling him to apologize for making certain statements on TV3.
It all started when Johnnie Hughes sent some messages to the Ghana Immigration Service about the kind of people they have recruited into the service. Johnnie Hughes showed a picture of an immigration officer who seems to be short in terms of physical appearance. He used the word, ‘Kapoepoe’ to describe such immigration officer because of his height.
Mr. Fred Kyei Mensah has reacted to this statement from Johnnie Hughes and has written to Johnnie Hughes. In the said letter, he urged Johnnie Hughes to apologize for describing the officer as ‘Kapoepoe’. According to him, Johnnie Hughes has disrespected and disgraced such officer.
Reacting to this issue, Johnnie Hughes made it clear to Fred Kyei Mensah that he sees nothing wrong with what he said. According to him, the officer shouldn’t have been recruited in the first place. He also made it clear that the officer has now been transferred as a general duty officer to an intelligent unit office following his exposé.
“Please, this is not an attack. This is just to say that the Immigration Service has responded and they failed to respond to this height issue. So stop crying more than the bereaved and to just stressed, the man is an HND holder, put on an inspector rank. He is not a sports man, he has no special skills. He is doing general duty and since I spoke about it, he has been asked to move from general duty to the intelligence unit and he is wearing mufti” he said
