Johnnie Hughes came under verbal attack last week for certain comments he made regarding an Immigration Officer. In one of his shows on Johnnies Bite, the vocal journalist was attacked for saying that an unqualified officer was admitted despite his height not meeting the required height level. Many others who wanted to enter the service were disqualified because of their height and so Johnnie questioned how come such a ‘kapoeipoei’ found himself in the service.
After the show Johnnie was lambasted by many for using such a name for someone who was qualified in his job. Today, Monday, September 26, 2022 Johnnie returned to rebut the accusations against him. According to Johnnie he felt he will be joined by others to speak about the ills in the Immigration Service, however he noted that some are rather insulting him.
Johnnie explained that he would have had no issue if the ‘short’ immigration officer had some special skills aside his height but has verified that he has no special qualities and so Johnnie wondered why he was picked over other taller men if height is used as a requirement to fail some people. Johnnie mentioned that he has no much evidence of ills in the service but is holding on and called on those involved not to get him angry. He boldly stated that there is nothing to apologize about because he only spoke the truth.
“This is not an attack. Even the Immigration Service did not respond to this height issue so stop crying more than the bereaved. The man is an HND holder, put on an inspector rank. He is not a sportsman. He is not a bandsman with no special and just doing general duties. Since I spoke about it he has been asked to move to the intelligence unit and he is now wearing mufti” Johnnie explained.
Johnnie called on the Immigration to answer his 60 questions instead of narrowing it down and answering only 10 of them. Johnnie called for more focus on the negatives in the service so that they are addressed instead of concentrating on his attack on a short person admitted into the service.
