We have been taught by words of wisdom; that one very important way of solving problems almost permanently, is to identify the causes and the contributing factors of the problem.
Words of wisdom, has again taught us; that solving problems partially, or tackling the surfaces of the problems; or better still, covering the causes of the problems, could escalate situations, and make problems impossible to solve.
The Republic of Ghana is currently in crises. The broken economy, currently facing the country, has lead to many difficulties; hardships or high cost of living. These problems; we can all (as Ghanaians), see and feel in our daily lives.
Some people on 2016 political campaign platforms (prior to election 2016); presented themselves as experts in economics and governance. They were given the opportunity to lead, and to solve the problems in the country. What do we have today…worsened the situations.
The Nana Addo-led New Patriotic Party (NPP) government in 2017/18 (prior to corona virus 19 and the Russian-Ukrainian War), started breaking down the economy of Ghana; introducing High cost of living and complete hardships in the country.
The current outbreak of corona virus disease (COVID-19) was first reported from Wuhan-China, on 31 December 2019; and by March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization declared it a pandemic.
Again; the Russian-Ukrainian conflict began in the year 2014, but Russian actually invaded Ukraine on 24 February 2022.
The sad part of the issue is; the Nana Addo-Bawumia-Ofori Atta government, is placing too much blames on COVID-19 pandemic, and the Russian-Ukrainian war as the main cause of the country’s economic challenges.
We have also recently seen the Intentional Monetary Fund (IMF), falling to the deception, and ‘cooked story, from the NPP government; that the COVID-19 pandemic and the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, really caused Ghana’s woes.
The two crises (COVID-19 pandemic and the Russian-Ukrainian conflict), really caused huge impact on countries and people’s lives around the world; not only in Ghana as being expressed or ‘painted’ by our government.
The reality is; our woes started far back in 2017 due to corruption, failed government and bad leadership; not covid-19 or any war.
These people from the Intentional Monetary Fund (IMF) are not Ghanaians. They are not living in the country with us; and so do not know the reality on the ground.
We the Ghanaians citizens started facing these economic hardships far back in the year 2017 when there were no covid or war.
The message now to the IMF is…if they really want to help solve the problems in Ghana, they must first do well by identifying the main causes, and the major contributing factors of these problems (corruptions and the NPP government’s failure).
The IMF must dig into the reality and stop using ‘cooked data’ from the Nana Addo-Bawumia-Ofori Atta government, to divert attentions.
