Sapashini Collaborates With Ghana Education Service And Ghana Health Service To Eradicate Teenage Pregnancy In The North East Region

Talented Ghanaian singer of Mamprugu descent based in Gambaga in the North East Region of Ghana, born Abdulai Abdul Basit but known popularly by his stage name Sapashini has taken up a challenge to fight vigorously against teenage pregnancy in his home region. The singer who doubles as a professional nurse seeks to win this fight through a partnership with Ghana Education Service and Ghana Health Service.

Teenage Pregnancy in the North East region has been increasing exponentially which threatens the future of the next generation as most of them are forced to drop out of school due to the menace. Sapashini who is so passionate about the people he represents feels the urge to as a matter of urgency interfere by touring Senior High Schools in the whole region to enlighten teenagers on how to handle their sexual reproductive health and also create awareness about the atrocities that teenage pregnancy comes with.

A post from his personal Facebook account sighted by OneMuzikGh.Com reads, “Hi Fam!,
Teenage Pregnancy has caused harm to our young ones. It causes more harm than good to their education and to the extent of damaging their entire life.
Awuuyii Nation has identified this hindering factor in the NorthEast Region of Ghana and as part of its social responsibility, is partnering with the regional health and education directorates to tour senior high schools within the region and engage young people on their sexual reproductive health rights and the dangers associated with teenage pregnancy.
We shall be educating the students on the Causes, Effects, risks involved, Psychological Effects, and other pins surrounding Teenage pregnancy.

A tour is a six-day event that commences on the 19th of September 2022 at the Walewale Senior High/Vocational and Technical Institute and ends on the 26th of September 2022 at Cheriponi Senior High School.
Teenage Pregnancy poses a great threat to our future generations and we all have a role just like Sapashini to play, to ensure that the future of the younger ones does not dwindle.
