Police detain a major suspect in the Wa murder

The main suspect in the Wa murder investigation has been detained by police.

Suspect Kankani Adongo was apprehended on September 19, 2022, in Bamahu, a Wa suburb, according to a police release, “after considerable collaboration between the Police and community search parties.”

He is being held by the police and will be charged after being arraigned in court.

On Sunday, September 18, 2022, the Bamahu village in Wa was cooperating with the special purpose police intelligence and investigative teams when they uncovered a body in a nearby shallow grave.

Family relatives of the deceased later recognized the body as that of Seidu Baga, who had gone missing on September 16, 2022.

After that, the body was unearthed and taken to the Regional Hospital in Washington for an autopsy and an inquiry.

Clinical psychologists are being provided by the police to the family as psycho-social help.

The Wa Municipality and its surrounding people can rest assured that the special intelligence and investigation teams will continue to work around the clock with support from the impacted communities to bring the offenders to justice, according to a statement released by the police.

To assure any safety or security, operations and fighting teams have overrun the area.

Locals protested last Friday in response to the ten fatal serial murders of private security personnel.
