Ghanaian record producer and founder of the Lynx Entertainment label, Richie Mensah has explained why MzVee exited his record label.
His explanation has come to validate the reasons detailed by the singer a few months ago.
MzVee born Vera Hamenoo-Kpeda revealed that she left the Lynx Entertainment label because she was not mentally ready for the pressure that being a big name in the show business came with.
According to MzVee: “The switch from being who I was in my small home and coming into this big world of show business was draining. So it got to a time, I was just tired.”
She disclosed that she was timid, lacking the confidence to voice out her grievances, and confront those who used to wrong her and this made her got used to keep things to herself.
“Growing up, I was very timid and kept things to myself. I was afraid. So if someone did something to me, I kept it to myself. So I think it was issues stemming from a long period,” she told JoyNews.
The female vocalist apologized to those who felt offended by her decision to ditch her former label.
“As I grew up, I came to understand certain things that happened when I was younger. It just drained me. At one point, I just went into this deep dark place. I left my record label. I unfollowed so many people on social media. It was a very difficult time”, she said.
Richie Mensah on the other hand in a recent interview with Caleb Nii Boye on 3FM said that;“MzVee’s case was a very personal thing. She’s said it several times, I mean. The depression that she was going through really affected a lot of things. So I didn’t let MzVee go. One thing is, MzVee stopped music. Do you get me?”.
Richie also added that: “She left because of the health issues that she was going through. We tried to help her with the health issues but she wanted to deal with it on her own. Then she built a new team and started again.”
