Gary Al-Smith Reveals Why Kotoko Is Not A Big Club In Africa

One of the most influential sports journalists in Ghana has told Ghanaians that, Kumasi Asante Kotoko is no longer a big club in African football. Gary Al-Smith has boldly told people who think Asante Kotoko is still a big club in Africa that, they are the most interesting people in the country.

He said this because he thinks they don’t know about what a big club is and what makes a club big in a particular area. Even though, Gary Al-Smith didn’t not specify what a big club in africa is or is not, but he talked about what Asante Kotoko did that have made them to lose their position as a big club in Africa.

On Gary Al-Smith’s Facebook platform he told Ghanaians and fans of Asante Kotoko that, Asante Kotoko have been eliminated 6 times by teams who were playing in Africa for the very first time. He made mention of African clubs such as, BYC, Eulma, Bejaia, San Pedro, Linguere and Khemisset.

Even though he did not include the team that knocked Asante Kotoko out of the CAF Champions League this evening but he wanted Asante Kotoko to know that, they have humiliated themselves for been eliminated again.

He also included Hearts of Oak to it. Gary added that, Hearts of Oak is just like Asante Kotoko.

On his Facebook platform he wrote, “The most interesting people are those who still think Kotoko is a big team in Africa. The evidence says the club has been, in the last decade, been eliminated six times by teams who were playing in Africa for the very first time: BYC, Eulma, Bejaia, San Pedro, Linguere and Khemisset.

And lastly he concluded that, “Hearts of Oak people don’t have a right to troll them either. Same WhatsApp group, probably worse.”
