5 Foods You Should Avoid Eating If You Want To Live A Long And Healthy Life

Everyone enjoys eating, but did you know that there are some foods you may be consuming that can kill you? Consumption of these foods in excess can be fatal. These are the foods below:

1. Cassava.

When prepared properly, cassava is safe to consume. When it is eaten without being fermented or cooked, however, it releases cyanide, which is dangerous. If you eat cassava, make sure it’s thoroughly boiled and fermented; otherwise, you could get cyanide poisoning.

2. Hot dogs.

This is a processed beef dish. Because the shape of the hot dog is similar to the tube of the esophagus, it can induce choking in children under the age of three. Make sure your kids don’t eat hot dogs, or better yet, slice them up into little bits. It is also harmful to adults because it can lead to a variety of ailments.

3. Cherry seeds.

Cherry seeds contain hydrogen cyanide, a toxic chemical that can be harmful to your health. However, because each seed carries only a small quantity of the poison, you may need to eat a lot of cherry seeds to become poisoned, so make sure you spit out the seeds when eating cherry.

4. Cashews.

Raw cashews or cashews that grow in the bush may contain urushiol which can be bad for your health.

5. Ackee fruit.

This is a common fruit in West Africa. When it’s ripe, it splits open. When this fruit spits open, you should never consume it because the skin contains a poison called hypoglycin, which prevents the body from digesting food.
