Asekem FC Chief Executive Officer Kwabena Obeng Agyeibi said the club’s main goal for next season is to win the 2022/23 Division One League, (DOL) Zone Two title to secure qualification to the Ghanaian top-flight.
The DOL newbies according to Mr Agyeibi, are keen to leave a mark on their debut season when the league gets underway.
Asekem FC, gained qualification to the second tier league after winning the Ashanti regional Division Two League last season.
They will open their account in the DOL next season in a home game against Pacific Heroes at Sekyere Beposo.
Mr Agyeibi reiterated his side’s desire to defy all odds and win the league title to get promoted to the Ghana betPawa Premier League.
“We set out two projects, the first project was to make sure our stadium is approved by the Club Licensing Board and at the same time, get a squad that can make an impact in the league and not to just make up the numbers,” he told the local media.
He added: “Truth be told; we want to win the league next season and anyone who knows me well knows that my promises do not fail,” he concluded.
Asekem FC will however face strong competition for the sole ticket from the zone with former top-flights Ebusua Dwarfs, New Edubiase United, Swedru All Blacks and WAFA among others, also in the running.
