You’re Being Disrespectful To Ghanaians – Oboy Sike Chides Ursula Owusu

Lilwin should think before he talks - Actor Oboy Siki

Kumaswood Actor, Oboy Siki, known in private circles as Nana Ofori Agyemang, has chided the Minister for Communications Madam Ursula Owusu Ekuful over her handling of the SIM card reregistration exercise that is currently ongoing.

He says Madam Ursula Owusu’s directive to block all unregistered SIM cards amounts to disrespect to Ghanaians – the people she has been appointed to work for.

Speaking on the general happenings in the country on Ghanaman TV, Oboy Siki, says he is surprised no one in government is calling the Communications Minister to order over her impudence to the people of Ghana.

“The government has allowed the Communication Minister Madam Ursula Owusu to talk anyhow to us. That woman does not even respect Ghanaians.   When she comes to address us, she talks as if she is a superpower”, he said.

“You insisted you want to block people’s SIM cards, what exactly do you want to achieve”, he asked.

He further adds that such arbitrary actions by Madam Ursula Owusu was not only going to hurt Ghanaians but the state as well as taxes as the government will lose revenues from the E-Levy.

The SIM Card reregistration exercise is scheduled to end this month September 30 after the initial July 31 deadline was extended for two months.

In order to force people to get their SIM registered before the set deadline, the National Communications Authority (NCA) in concert with the Ministry of Communication and the Mobile Network Operators (MNOs), announced a directive to block all outgoing calls and data services for person who have not yet reregister their SIM cards.

However, that directive has quietly been withdrawn following some lawsuits which have been filed against the National Communications Authority, Mobile Network Operators and the Communications Ministry.
