Paul Adom Otchere yesterday interviewed Charles Bissue on issues pertaining to galamsey in the country. Charles Bissue, a presidential staffer has been a familiar face when it comes to galamsey. At one point there were allegations that he was involved in the galamsey himself. The issue of galamsey has gained publicity in the wake of Aisha’s Huang’s trial. Many feel the government has not been committed to stopping the illegality.
One of the interesting things to pop up is that Aisha has some videos that has some big officials in the country in some uncompromising positions. According to Kweku Baako the videos will cause havoc if they are released and concluded that because of this it will be difficult to shut down Aisha. In the interview on Good Evening Ghana, Paul questioned Charles Bissue as to why he feels there is no leaked videos.
Charles Bissue had mentioned earlier that Aisha really had no videos. Paul however noted that there are videos to that effect. He mentioned that there are a lot of them and he had the chance to see some of the videos and it was serious. Charles Bissue tried to say these videos meant nothing.
Paul however noted that politics and elections will punish anyone who is found in the videos and mentioned that it will be difficult to put Aisha out. “Should we not arrest Aisha and ask her to delete these videos? She can leak it on WhatsApp. From the video I saw few years ago it was brutal. It is not simple to be shown in a video. I can tell you there are videos” Paul explained
Many Ghanaians are not optimistic that Aisha Huang and her accomplices will be punished. Many say the government will find means to let her go again. This might be partly due to the fact that President Akufo-Addo in a latest interview said he wasn’t sure if Aisha was deported or she fled. Later Oppong Nkrumah mentioned repatriation. But the question remains as to whether Aisha has videos of some big men and whether she is using it as a bargaining chip.
