A former Ashanti regional Deputy Audit Service Director, Mr. Stephen Dapaah has been burnt to death in a fire that gutted his house at Aburaso in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of the Ashanti region.
The 74-year-old deceased’s son, grandson, and granddaughter who had visited him from the United Kingdom two weeks ago were also injured in the inferno.
The incident occurred today, Saturday, September 10, 2022, when the visitors were preparing to leave for abroad.
The Assembly Member for the area, Mr. Emmanuel Nyanteng who spoke to Class News’ Elisha Adarkwah said the five-bedroom house and several other properties were also lost to the blaze.
The cause of the fire is not yet known but the personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service who were called to the scene have commenced investigations to ascertain it.
The injured as well as two others – the deceased’s wife and his son’s wife who were traumatized have been admitted at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
The charred body of the deceased has been deposited at the same hospital morgue for preservation.
