World Vision International has been in Jirapa Municipality for the past nine(9) years and operated in two Zonal Councils Tizza and Duori.
Hon. Lawyer Nicholas Soyiri, in his remarks, thanked the delegation for the visit and the organisation for their humanitarian services in the municipality for the period and respectfully lamented how he wish they never planned to exit because their services are still required to propel development for the people of Jirapa.
He noted, their already implemented programs in the areas of savings and loans, Girl Child Education, Women and the venerable in society, water and other support programs are still needed to help the people, hence he plead for the organisation to reconsider their decision and stay for a period.
The delegation in response acknowledged the concerns, from the MCE as legitimate and promised to discussed at management level and communicate the decision back to him.
Hon. Nicholas Soyiri together with the delegation from World Vision International proceeded to Sigri to commissioned a groundnut processing centre started by the community and later supported by World Vision International to complete.
The project cost $65,000 dollars and a 25 achre of groundnut farm has been cultivated to feed the centre.
Hon. Nicholas Soyiri at Sigri thanked the community and World Vision International for such a great initiative which is in line with the President agenda of industrialisation. He appealed to the Chiefs and Landlords to make available more land for cultivation of more groundnut to feed the centre and pledge the support of his office as and when the need arises for continuous operation as the Department of Agriculture will equally be available to support with technical assistance.
