Asante Kotoko arrive safely back in Ghana after their triumph over RC Kadiogo in Benin

Record Ghana champions Asante Kotoko arrived safely back in the country on Tuesday evening after winning their African Champions League game a day earlier in Benin.

The Porcupines, defeated the champions of Burkina Faso Rail Club de Kadiogo 1-0 in a preliminary round first leg encounter played at the General Mathieu Kerekou Stadium in Benin.

And, the Ghana champions arrived safely in the capital on Tuesday evening after their win and, they will now prepare for the return leg fixture in Kumasi on Sunday.

“Our Warriors have arrived safely in the capital and will proceed to Kumasi on wednesday morning,” Asante Kotoko posted on their media channels upon their arrival.

The return fixture will be played at the Baba Yara Stadium in the Garden City with the game set to kick-off at 3:00pm local time.

Coach Seydou Zerbo and his charges will look to advance to the next stage of the competition as they chase a place in the group phase of the competition at least.

The team will continue with their preparations from Wednesday when they arrive in Kumasi ahead of the big clash on Sunday afternoon.
