“Down Flat” Has Changed My Life – Kelvyn Boy

Talented Ghanaian afrobeat singer and songwriter Kelvyn Boy known in private life as Kelvyn Brown has said that his smash hit single “Down Flat” has changed his life both financial wise and music wise.

In an interview with ace media personality Andy Dosty on Accra-based Hitz Fm’s DayBreak Hitz Show on Monday, September 12, 2022, the singer mentioned that he has been able to buy a new whip (car) and acquire plots of land from the proceeds he has cashed out from the song.

“Downflat changed my life. I am cashing in and out…I feel like it has moved me, it changed my life,” he started

Speaking about the music wise impact of “Down Flat”, he said it has transcended him beyond the boundaries of Ghana. He has been able to play shows in foreign countries and also had the privilege to be interviewed by high profile International media persons on popular media houses.

“I was at the offices of Trace and I also went to the BBC. It wasn’t part of the plan because I went for a tour, and didn’t go for promotion but it’s the song. They know about the song and they want to see the person (behind it),” he said.

Both the audio and video of  ” Down Flat” were released on 28th January, 2022 and both have since recorded impressive strides on the various digital platforms. The song gave him International recognition after going viral, especially on TikTok, and dominated major music charts both in Ghana and the diaspora.

The “Mea” singer teased fans with the snippet of the remix version of the song on his social media handles and also thanked the two featured artistes (Steflon Don and Tekno) for their contributions.

The remix version was released a few days on all major streaming platforms.
