2022 HMB-Miss Upper East Ghana: Date And Venue For Auditions Announced

The spearhead, Ayelbis Events in conjunction with Happy Man Bitters as the headline sponsor for the most decorated Upper East-based beauty and cultural pageant, Miss Upper East Ghana has announced the auditions’ date and venue for the 5th edition.

The audition is scheduled for September 24, 2022, at the Tap Hotel, located in the Upper East regional Capital, Bolgatanga, Soe.

The Miss Upper East Ghana is an annual beauty pageant that deals with showcasing
the cultural ethics of the Upper East Region.

MUEG which is the acronym for the Miss Upper East Ghana pageant focuses on promoting the culture of the Upper East Region through various platforms which include promoting the Languages, Dances, Songs, storytelling, Clothing as well as the food we eat. These are all embedded in the pageant as contestants are exposed to various cultural activities such as showcasing traditional and cultural attires of various cultures, showcasing the Upper east made wears, as well as cultural cooking, which are all exciting platforms for cultural ethics.

Headline Sponsor Dr. Emmanuel Bortey Borketey and winner, 1st runner-up, 2nd runner-up of the immediate previous edition.

The Miss Upper East Ghana pageant show empowers women beyond beauty and also showcases positive attributes of the Upper East Region women. The winner portrays exemplary qualities and serves as a role model for young women in the upper East region and the country as a whole.
Contestants are required not to be unmarried, not pregnant, with a command of their native language and English, a citizen of Ghana, and a native of the upper east region. They should be between the ages of 18-26 years old and be of good health and character with no tattoos or piercings apart from ears.

The immediate previous edition, (4th edition) saw a lot of amazing performances from the contestants with Amoah Angelina Yinime from the Bolgatanga East crowning the queen as well as miss popularity.

Born Amoah Angelina Yinime known by her stage name as Miss Yinime beat competition from others to win the GHC10,000.00 cash prize ( 7k cash + 3k project start-up cash), a special 5-star treat, Table Top Fridge, Blender, Rice Cooker,iPhone 7 plus, A Plaque, Souvenir from the sponsor.

24-year-old Osman Sakina known by her stage name as Miss Sakina from Garu became the 1st runner, aside from that, she emerged as the miss eloquent, miss talent, and top model.

Miss Sakina who has Agriculture as a tool to empower the youth in the Gary District as her project bagged home a cash prize of Ghc 2,000 for her project startup, laptop, Toaster.

Boaram Elizabeth Berry from the Telensi District went home with a 42″ Flat screen, Kettle, 1k project sat up cash as the 2nd runner up. she has also been crowned Miss Culture. Project: Eradication of child marriage and reduction of teenage pregnancy in the Talensi District.
