Popular writer for the ruling NPP, P.K Sarpong, following the ongoing SIM card re-registration brouhaha has asserted that, Honorable Sam George and his partners in crime simply hate Ursula Owusu. He is of the view that they can’t stand her might that is why they are using the court to obstruct her.
In a post shared on his official Facebook page on Friday 10th September 2022, he wrote that, these relentless efforts by Sam George and his group are not really about a bad policy the NCA is introducing to sanitize the system with its SIM registration exercise.Â
PK Sarpong asserted that it is rather a fixation on Ursula Owusu by these people who are bent on frustrating her in her determination to get the right things done with respect to this SIM card registration exercise.Â
“Sam George and his partners in crime simply hate Ursula. They can’t stand her might and the only weapon they believe they can deploy to obstruct her is to get the court to outlaw the restrictions imposed on calls and internet access.” He remarked.
PK further argued that the court’s directive is temporary as it would soon be challenged and possibly get overturned. They can rejoice for now, but the right things will be done eventually.Â
He admitted that there maybe some technical hitches with the rolling out of the restrictions but that should not lead to the entire exercise being put on ice.Â
“The stubborn academy has won a battle but not the war. The purveyors of this unpatriotic crusade, strangely enough, have all registered and enjoying the services the mobile network operators are offering.” He added.
The comments of P.K Sarpong comes as a background to the order given by court, to NCA and Telecommunication companies to stop the barring of calls for un-registered SIM cards.
Many people complained that their SIM cards have been barred from calls even though they have registered their SIMs. Following that, some group of people sent sought legal action against the call barring. They have won.The SIM card re-registration exercise is set to end on 30th September, 2022.
