On Friday 9th September 2022, TV3’s Johnny Hughes’s comments about the passing on of Queen Elizabeth II took another angle.
The outspoken award-winning broadcast journalist mentioned that the Ghanaian leaders should use the death of Queen Elizabeth as an example to leave a legacy.
He mentioned how various world leaders sent messages to the United Kingdom for diplomatic purposes.
” Just see how Nana Addo twitted seven times in a row. Has he ever spoken the hands of the Queen before? He kept sending messages upon messages. Now to the leaders in the country, your focus should be about what the world would remember you for”.
” You were tweeting for someone who is far away? Are you looking for money? Well, you have already blocked the avenues that would give us money. You did your best to block our sim cards. Is that not wickedness?”
Another important issue that Johnnie Hughes raised was the fact that Queen Elizabeth did not plead to be given her crown but she still spoke to her people.
Johnnie Hughes asked why Nana Addo is someone who campaigned and pleaded for Ghanaians to try him but has now failed to officially address the good people of Ghana on the challenges facing the country.
” You who pleaded to be where you find it difficult to talk to us. The person who did not beg finds it worthy to be talking”.
Johnnie Hughes found a way to provide various lessons from Queen Elizabeth’s passing on and also advised Nana Addo to generate revenues from internal sources.
“What can Ghanaians remember you for? What is your own story? Queen Elizabeth has her story but what is yours? Should we say it is arrogance?”
The TV3 broadcast journalist did not mince words but went straight to the point as he advised Nana Addo to talk to Ghanaians about the economic challenges facing the country instead of twitting on diplomatic relations. What do you make of Johnnie Hughes’s advice to Nana Addo?
