The Vice President at IMANI Africa, Selorm Branttie, has told Ursula Owusu that her action about the SIM card re-registration, is a complete disrespect to the people she will beg to vote for her.
In a post shared on his official Facebook page on Thursday, 8th September 2022, Selorm wrote;
“Who is ready for a class action lawsuit? We cannot stand by for such stone age mentality to be superimposed in a digital Era.This is compete disrespect for the same people you will be wearing party colors to beg for votes for just 18 months from now.”
Selorm added that the action of Ursula Owusu is a cocktail of utter complete unapologetic arrogance mixed with a dash of hubris and a complete lack of emotional and situational intelligence.
“This morning there are lots of duly registered people who have been affected because even for such a seismic change we didn’t even implement test blocking to test the of this system, and even those who registered can’t even get back online.” Selorm added.
Background
The comments of Selorm Branttie comes as a background to the Minister of Communication, Ursula Owusu’s post.
“After evaluation at the end of August, it has been determined that starting the disciplinary steps outlined in the NCA press release is prudent.
Additionally, any SIM that has not yet been completely registered will be unable to use voice and Internet services. Afterward, using unregistered SIMs will be more expensive.” Ursula wrote on her Facebook wall yesterday.
Selorm Branttie quizzed whether digitization is for inclusiveness or for excluding people.
“Until we wise up as a nation for what we really want to define as progress, such Neanderthals will run riot over us.” He added.
The SIM Card re-registration exercise is set to end on 30th September 2022, after it was initially extended from it’s 31st July deadline. Some people are yet to complete their registration with the reason that, they haven’t yet obtain their Ghana card.
