Coach Thomas Tuchel has this morning been sacked as Head Coach of Chelsea Football Club. The German who had won the hearts of many Chelsea fans by winning the champions league in the first 6 months of his reign becomes the eighth coach to be sacked by the London club in the last ten years.
Thomas Tuchel had been described as someone who was falling out with majority of the players in the squad. According to sources close to the club, some of the players felt they were being treated unfairly and even sometimes being asked to play out of position. This amounts to their poor performance and hence poor results.
The coach oversaw his Chelsea’s 100th game in defeat as the West London club failed to mount a serious comeback in their first Champions League match of the season.
Sources indicate that this was hardly the decision for his eventual sacking however, the coach made little effort to communicate to new owners during transfer negotiations. The sources further indicate that Thomas Tuchel preferred to focus on football on the pitch rather than the business side of it. A decision the new owners felt was not good for the future running of the club.
Chelsea are now in discussions with Brighton’s Graham Potter and ex PSG coach Mauricio Pochettino. A replacement could be announced in the coming days.
