An aide to former President John Dramani Mahama, Joyce Bawa Moqtari has expressed her sentiment about Aisha Haung’s brouhaha and those in charge of the National Identification Authority. The issue has become a bone of contention among the citizenry.
The state institution is responsible for the issuance of the Ghana card and Professor Kenneth Agyemang Attafuah is the head. It is presumed that the biometric process identifies each applicant and verifies the data provided. Hence it is practically impossible to outwit the system.
Surprisingly, Aisha Huang is possessing a Ghana card as a deportee who was banned from entering the country. She returned to Ghana and continue to operate as an illegal miner.
The Ghana card bears the name En Haung and the date of issuance is the 27th of February 2022. It is however disputable if that’s her actual name or a false identity. She is not just into illegal mining but has also been involved in the cutting of rosewood.
How such a person can bypass all the security features is surprising and that might have motivated the aide to former president Mahama, Madam Joyce to criticize the NIA boss.
