Host of TV3 New Day show, Johnnie Hughes has reacted to the case of Aisha Huang, who is also known as the queen of galamsey in Ghana.
Speaking on Johnnie’s Bite show on TV3 this morning, Johnnie Hughes clearly revealed that Aisha Huang was never deported from Ghana. According to Johnnie Hughes, Aisha Huang was rather aided to leave the country peacefully and not deported as said by government officials in 2019.
Johnnie Hughes further stated that he has strong feeling that Aisha Huang’s current existence in the country is as result of the help she had from some top government officials. He sent strong message to government and urged them to do the needful because the fight against galamsey can never be won if no one gets prosecuted on Aisha Huang’s case.
He also added that government should arrest the top officials who send people to do the illegal mining activities. He added that the military usually arrest workers at the mining fields and forget about their bosses. He made it clear that when an excavator is seen on a mining site, the owner of the vehicle could easily be traced because every excavator has a registration number which can help to identity the owner of the machine. This will help in arresting all the top officials involved in illegal mining activities.
Johnnie Hughes believes that the laws of the country should deal with Aisha Huang this time around so that it will serve as a deterrent to others. He sent similar message to the chiefs who also give their lands to foreigners such as Aisha Huang to do mining on it. He urged them to do the needful because the country will soon import water because of illegal mining activities.
