Ghanaians React Massively As Paul Adom Otchere Sues Captain Smart And Demands Compensation

The relationship between Captain Smart and Paul Adom Otchere has reached a crescendo and a legal tussle has been initiated by one to settle scores. Both journalists are two of the most watched and listened to presenters in the country. Whereas Captain Smart is the king of morning shows, Paul reigns when it comes to late night political shows. It can be recalled that the two have been engaged in a verbal banter since last month. This started when Captain Smart interviewed ace broadcaster Kwasi Kyei Darkwah. KKD made certain comments about Paul.

Since then, Paul and Smart have been attacking each other verbally on their shows. But what could have sent them on this path? Paul was one of the first to interview Captain Smart when he was relieved of his work at ABN’s Angel TV. The 2 started to engage well only for this to happen. Well, Paul has sued Captain Smart for defaming him on one of his morning show programmes. According to Paul, the attacks of Captain Smart has degraded him in the eyes of his peers. Paul is demanding compensation for being called a stomach journalist.

Paul is calling for Captain Smart to be made to retract and apologize as well as pay damages to the tune of 10 million cedis. Already, Captain Smart is already facing a legal tussle after Asenso-Boakye, minister for Works and Housing also filed a writ at the high court demanding for 10 million cedis in damages for defamatory comments made about him by Captain Smart. Many feel Paul has no right to sue Captain Smart. They argue that what he does justifies what Captain Smart used to tag him.
