Club Statement Confirms: Chelsea Reportedly Part Ways With Thomas Tuchel After 20 Months In Charge

A poor start to the season saw three losses in seven games a shock loss to Dinamo Zagreb on Tuesday in the UEFA Champions League opener, Chelsea football club on the latest reports has parted ways with head coach Thomas Tuchel.

With two losses out of six opening games in the Premier League and an embarrassing moment in their trip to Croatia, the German tactician has been relieved of his duties at the club after less than two years in charge by the new Chelsea board as they believe it is the right time for a transition.

This big news was anticipated due to heavy spending during the transfer window, a total of €282m, the highest spending by any club in the world’s most recent summer transfer window.

Club’s official statement reads -“On behalf of everyone, Chelsea football club would like to place on record its gratitude to Thomas and his staff for all their efforts during their time with the club“.

Thomas will rightly have a place in Chelsea history after winning the Champions League, Super Cup and Club World Cup in his time here

As a new ownership group recorded its 100 days since taking over the club as it continues its hard work to take the club forward, the new owners believe it is the right time to make this transition

The Coaching staff will take charge of the team for training and preparation of the upcoming matches as the club swivels to appoint a new head coach“.

During his at Chelsea, Thomas Tuchel won the UEFA Champions League, Super Cup and Club World Cup – also reached the FA Cup and League Cup finals and was the 2021 UEFA Coach of the Year in his 20 months tenure.
