Asante Kotoko will be playing their CAF Champions League game in Benin instead the initial venue Cote D’ivoire. Asante Kotoko were scheduled to play guest to RC Kadiogo of Burkina Faso but an ongoing renovations at the Stade de Yamoussoukro has compelled RC Kadiogo to choose Benin. The General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association Prosper Harrison Addo gives details of an ongoing discussions among GFA, Asante Kotoko, Burkina Faso FA and WAFU.
“I have held talks with Burkina Faso FA General Secretary. We are jaw jawing. They want to go to Benin. Right now we have to agree and we have to talk to CAF for the match to be sanctioned. In Benin, the match will be played on Sunday and not on Friday.”
” Yes they will play in Benin because the Cote D’ivoire stadium will not be ready. When the teams are going to Africa, we do everything possible for them. I told you earlier that we will get approval for the stadium and indeed it has been approved and the game will be played in Kumasi.” He told Oyerepa TV Sports.
A conclusion on the matter will be made today.
“We will conclude everything today. I have been speaking to the Burkina Faso club and WAFU officials. “
