Despite having the fifth-most expensively assembled squad in Europe’s top five leagues, Liverpool do not rank in the top 10 of leading European teams when it comes to net transfer spend over the last decade.
The Reds, who have a net spend of £277m since 2013, sit at 17th place in terms of net spend rankings, behind 11 other Premier League clubs the likes of West Ham United, Newcastle United Everton, Aston Villa, Crystal Palace and Wolverhampton Wanderers
Jordan Henderson is set to be sidelined for around three weeks with a hamstring injury.
Henderson underwent a scan on Friday which confirmed that he only suffered a minor strain. He will miss Wednesday’s Champions League opener away to Napoli and is also expected to be absent for the upcoming games against Wolves, Ajax and Chelsea.
Fabio Carvalho is a doubt for Napoli after being taken off in the derby with a dead leg. Curtis Jones will also be assessed after missing the game against Everton.
