Aisha Huang debacle; massive reactions as Awuni tells Nana Addo to fire accomplices or resign

Ace investigative journalist Manasseh Azure Awuni has told the president, His Excellency Nana Akuffo Addo to crack the whip on those whose action and inaction led the deported Aisha Huang back into the country to once again engage in illegal mining activity or he should resign as the head of state. According to the outspoken media personality, the scandal is an embarrassment to the nation, hence those who aided Aisha Huang back into the country and engaged in the galamsey activity should have their heads on the chopping table. He maintained that the Aisha Huang debacle is highly unacceptable and has gone beyond the ceiling, and should not be condoned as a country.

“Akuffo-Addo must resign if he can’t fire anyone for this Aisha Huang embarrassment”, part of his post on Facebook reads. 

Aisha Huang, the Chinese international became notoriously popular for her engagement in galamsey activity in 2018. She was arrested for breaking the laws, but the way and manner in which her case was handled left much to be desired. Aisha Huang was reported to have been deported to her home country, China – this did not sit well with the ordinary Ghanaian who thought regardless of her nationality and influence, she should be made to face the full rigorous of the law as any other Ghanaian citizen. 

Fast forward, Ghanaians massively reacted in shock and disbelief when news made run that Aisha Huang and three others have been arrested and remanded for their alleged involvement in galamsey activity. Though she is reported by various media houses to have sneaked into the country from Togo, Manasseh Azure Awuni thinks that anyone who helped in anyway way possible to get Aisha Huang back into the country should be sacked by the president.
