The road construction from Esiama to Nkruful, hometown of Ghana’s first president Dr Kwame Nkrumah in the Western Region is 88 percent complete, Head of Corporate Communications at the Ghana National Gas Company, Ernest Owusu Bempah has said.
The project is being funded by the Ghana National Gas Company. Mr Owusu-Bempah described project as ‘first class road’ that is being constructed.
Speaking to journalists after leading a team to tour the project recently, he said: “We have a corporate social responsibility at Ghana National Gas Company.
“This is Kwame Nkrumah’s hometown Nkroful, the road was in a deplorable state for over 45 years. It was under the Acheampong government that the road saw some maintenance but destroyed again.
“But through the leadership of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Ghana Gas, we have been able to put that road there. Today, if you travel from Essiama to Nkroful, there is a first class road which is 88 percent complete, and it is Ghana Gas project.”
He added that, the is also providing recreational centers stadia to support the people of Nzema.
