GhanaWeb posted on its heavily followed social media page, the picture of the Minister of Communications and Digitalisation, Lawyer Mrs Ursula Owusu.
In the post, GhanaWeb indicated that the National Communications Authority has finally released punitive actions for unregistered SIM card users. Outgoing calls and data services will be blocked for 48 hours.
A close look at the NCA’s letter shows that all Telcos are required to fully comply with the terms.
Why should unregistered SIM cards suffer these sanctions? Has Madam Ursula Owusu already given prior notice about this sanction?
Will the government be successful in taking this action without incurring the wrath of some SIM card users? Would the National Centre for Civic Education help to facilitate education in complying with the registration of the SIM Cards?
Many Ghanaians have reacted to GhanaWeb’s post as they pleaded for more time to comply.
Other Ghanaians have also mentioned that they are yet to finish the Ghana card registration.
