The office of the former president of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama has reacted to the recent claims made by the Bono regional Chairman of the NPP, Abronye about an alleged ¢14 million Ex-gratia given to John Mahama in 2013.
According to John Mahama, such allegations are false and he will urge the public to disregard such claims. According to him, he has not taken such amount of money in his 25 years as a politician.
He served strong notice to President Akufo Addo and urged him to stop sending people to make false claims against him(John Mahama). He also challenged Abronye and other officials to provide proof of what they are saying. John Mahama added that all the monies he has ever taken from government are in the record books at the office of the chief of staff or at the controller and accountant general’s department.
This comes after Abronye made it clear that former President John Mahama took home the “fattest” ex-gratia of ¢14 million in 2013. He made this revelation on Nsempa Fie show on Wontumi TV and added that since the 4th republic, former President John Mahama remains the only person who has taken home the whopping amount and set a record for himself.
Below is the letter from the office of the former president to reply this allegations.
