News coming in indicates that the Ghana Police Service has arrested a total of 42 suspects who are believed to have involved themselves in some offences during the just ended musical concert in Ashiaman.
Dancehall giant, Stonebwoy organised a musical concert known as ‘Ashiaman To The World’ on Saturday, 3rd September. The event saw a lot of musicians performing live on stage. It is the fifth time the musician is organizing such event.
However, according to the police, some persons came to the program with different motive. They came to rob and cause some kind of unlawful practices at the event. For this reason, 42 suspects have been arrested. The police revealed that toy guns, knives, scissors and other weapons were retrieved from these suspects.
“The suspects who are being held form various offences attacked some of the funs with toy guns, cutlasses, knives, scissors and other offensive weapons at different locations towards the end of the concert.”
“Items retrieved from them include 2 Toy pistols, 10 mobile phones, 5 cutlasses, 5 jack knives, 3 Pairs of scissors, 1 wig and a tablet” they posted.
This is not the first time such action has been taken by the police. Several individuals are in prison because of similar acts. The Ghana Police Service has therefore made it clear that these suspects will be sent to court so that the laws of the country will deal with them.
In Ghana, most of the musical concerts are held during the night. People usually travel through dark areas to get the destination. Thieves and armed robbers usually take advantage of this and hide at various checkpoints with the hope of robbing passers.
The Ghana Police has served a clear notice to such offenders that they will surely be caught and if they are being caught, the law will deal with them. The police has also taken several measures such as providing CCTV at various joints so that the actions of these criminals will be brought to light.
