NCA To Start Punishing All Those With Unregistered SIMs Starting Tomorrow, 5th September

The National communications authority has outlined the various punitive measures against anyone who have not registered their SIM cards after the deadline given.

In a statement released and signed by the authority and the ministry of communications and digitisation, the punitive measures were discussed at the meeting with the National Communications Authority on the 3rd August, 2022 and compiled a d reviewed.

The statement further indicates that after comprehensive review of the punitive measures and approval from the Hon minister of communication and digitisation, Mrs Ursula Owusu, the punitive measures will take effect from the 5th of September, 2022.

The worse part of the measure is that you the person who has refused to register your SIM card for the time given may not be able to use voice calls or data until you register. The good news is that the authority shall allow you to use short messaging service (SMS) in case you want to register.
