Take Charge And Prosecute Them Just As You Did To Some NDC Members – Lawyer Tameklo Serves Notice

Member of the NDC communication team and legal advisor for the party, Lawyer Gordon Edudzi Tameklo has made it clear to the president that he should take charge of the country and prosecute his appointees who have been captured in the Auditor General’s report for procurement breaches.

According to him, the options are two. It is either Akufo-Addo is not in charge of this country or he is an accomplice in this whole engagement of procurement breaches.

Speaking on The Key Points show on TV3 this morning, Lawyer Tameklo revealed that President Akufo Addo and his team prosecuted some members of the NDC who were found in procurement breaches under the NDC administration. However he has not taken same action against officials of the NPP government who have been captured as having violated the procurement laws.

He sent strong message to the president and urged him to do the needful because the level of procurement breaches in this administration is far more serious than what have happened in other governments.

“I am aware of officials of the NDC who are being prosecuted for procurement breaches. Now we have appointees of Akufo-Addo who have breached the PPA Act, no sanctions have been taken against them.”

“The question boils down to leadership, either Akufo-Addo is not in charge of this country or he is an accomplice in this whole engagement” he said.

It seems to be a tradition in Ghana that any time the auditor general gives out a report, several irregularities take place. A year ago, ¢12 billion were total monies which were reported to have gone missing or found its way in people’s pocket. This year’s report reveals that an amount of ¢17 billion have found it way out of the public purse. This is not a joke. The level of corrupt activities in the country keep increasing each and every year.

According to several concerned citizens and political analysts, the president must take charge and prosecute all persons whose actions led to the huge loss of state revenue. This is because, the country goes for loan each and every year, but the money the country loses from corrupt activities are money than the loans we take from various financial institutions.
