On Saturday, 3rd September 2022, TV3 Ghana’s Key points show highlighted the 2021 Auditor General’s report. It is an undeniable fact the report revealed massive reactions and alleged corruption cases that have dire financial consequences on the country.
The panel of the show included Dr Eric Oduro Osae, Godwin Edudzi Tamakloe, Joseph Kpemka and Linda Ofori Kwarfo.
Panel members agreed that the audit report revealed several preventable losses that should not be repeated. It was also indicated that even though not all the infractions or irregularities were financial losses or corruption, there was a general problem with the institutional and country leadership.
According to Linda Kwarfo, leaders ought to see to the implementation of policies and systems.
” I expected the Finance Minister to implement some punitive measures on institutions that have consistently failed to meet the standards per the Auditor General reports. The Finance Minister can without financial resources as a way of punishing these institutions”.
Linda Kwarfo, during her zoom submission, told TV3’s Alfred Ocansey about her opinions of Ghana’s problems.
“So you see, Ghana’s problem is not Parliament. Our problem is rather the implementation of the laws, principles and procedures”.
