2022 World Cup Ambassador David Trezeguet believes Black Stars of Ghana have what it takes to make it out of the group stage of this year’s FIFA World Cup and probably play his country of origin, France in the finals. He sees this year’s FIFA World Cup as an opportunity for Ghana to demonstrate quality and compete for the best.
“The Ghanaian team and Ghanaian fans have the ambition of winning the World Cup. When I look at the Ghanaian group, it is possible that they can qualify to the next stage. It is an opportunity for the players and the country to show their quality. Said French and Juventus legend David Trezeguet on TV3.”
Ghana is drawn in Group H of this year’s FIFA World Cup alongside Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea. Ghanaians – following the draw – have counted themselves as part of teams to advance to the next stage, with wins over Uruguay and South Korea.
Otto Addo and his back room staff have been tasked to put together a formidable side that is capable of making an impact at the prestigious tournament.
Ghana was on the verge of becoming the first African representative to appear at World Cup semis in 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, but for Luis Suarez handball.
