Black Galaxies Of Ghana Qualify For Chan Tournament Next Year After Beating Nigeria On Penalties

Black Galaxies of Ghana have booked a ticket for 2023 African Nations Championship, Chan, to be held in Algeria. Coach Annor Walker and his lads made Ghanaians proud after pulling off qualification via penalty kicks.

Nigeria scored two goals to make the aggregate a 2:2 score line but lost 5 – 4 on penalties.

Black Galaxies of Ghana managed to beat Nigeria by two unanswered goals during the first leg at the Cape Coast Stadium last weekend. Daniel Afriyie Barnieh and his teammate Suraj Seidu were the scorers for Ghana in that game.

In today’s game at MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja, Black Galaxies held Super Eagles B to a goalless draw in the first half amidst few chances that were created by both sides.

Black Galaxies, led by Gladson Awako on the turf, stayed on purpose, remaining resolute to prevent any ball from trespassing, but conceded in 79th minutes as well as deep into stoppage time.

Coach Annor Walker leads Ghana into the tournament for the first time after missing out in the last three editions.

The African Nations Championship is competed among African nations with players competing in the national league competition. The tournament takes place between January 8 – 31, 2023 in Algeria.
