According to tv3 business news report, the continues increase in the prices of goods in the country has affected almost all sectors of the economy the egg industry.
Following the resent price in the agriculture inputs,labour,fuel and electricity in the country,the prices of eggs have increased in various markets depending on the place you are located.
Poultry farmers association of Ghana have increased the price of create of eggs which has rended no chance for egg seller in the market. According to the association,the cost of agriculture inputs to maize farmers such as fertilizers, ploughing machines and weedside have increased so they have no choice than to increase the cost of maize.
In addition to this,fuel has increased to extend that the cost of transportation from one place to another especially, from rural areas to Urban centers becomes unbearable to them.
The market women said that, initially create of costs fifteen and sixteen Ghana cedis but now it costs about thirty Ghana cedis and above.
Due to this they are pleading to the general public that they shouldn’t fight with them when they sell one egg at two Ghana cedis in the market.
