Corruption: CAGD admits GRA’s reports are original. GHS3.26billion goes missing.

The GRA /Finance Ministry showed reports after the release of the Auditor General’s documentations. These were actually the tax revenues collected in the year 2021.

The Controller and Accountant-General’s Department is mandated by the Public Financial Management Act, 2016 (Act 921) to: Receive all Public and Trust monies payable into the Consolidated Fund (done through its staff stationed in all government departments the revenue collecting ones).

Mr. Kwasi Kwaning-Bosompem is the Controller & Accountant-General’s Department.

It’s quite amazing that, as the country is striving it’s best to have bribery and corruption eradicated , authorities and leaders rather participate immensely in such . A clear evidence as you read below.

The tax revenues collected in 2021 by CAGD recorded a sum of GHS60.69 billion cedis. Note the CAGD pronounce their investigations based on the records of GRA itself.

Nevertheless, The GRA on the other hand , shown revenues collected in 2021 were, GHS57.43billion. Indicating a less sum by the Finance Ministry. A Total difference of GHS 3.26 billion.

A question to answer. Between the Chief Accountant and the GRA ,who is in the better place to give the right figures.

Concluding the reports ,CAGD had said its figures were an overstatement made. Meanwhile ,the 3.26 billion remained unexplainable further.
