This post is about how to get rich for God because you can’t work for God and be poor in life.
Genesis 26:13 “This man (Isaac) became rich, and he went on getting richer and richer until he became very rich.Â
Financial success is not reserved for the wicked or a small group of people. All those, like Isaac and Jacob in the aforementioned scriptures, whose father is the Creator God, the One who owns the gold and silver, have their fair portion of wealth.
Yes, if you work hard enough, you can get wealthy. You can flourish in every aspect, financially, if you wish. But the fundamental question remains: How do you become rich for God? In other words, what place do you give to God in the grace He gives you (or will give you) to have an abundance of material goods?
Yes, if you work hard enough, you can get wealthy. You can flourish in every aspect, financially, if you wish. But the fundamental question remains: How do you become rich for God? In other words, what place do you give to God in the grace He gives you (or will give you) to have an abundance of material goods?
1. Recognize and find in God the source of your wealth
You cannot become wealthy for God if you do not first acknowledge that He is your genuine source of prosperity. All of the possessions you have were not gained for you via your intelligence or strength. Or do you not realize that some people who are wiser than you failed or went bankrupt before they had even exhausted all of their options?Â
Because of illness or premature death, people who were even more fortunate than you never reached the pinnacle of their wealth. As a result, their projects never saw the light of day. Therefore, acknowledge God’s hand in your progress and give God the honor that is rightfully his. “Deuteronomy 8:17-18
2. Flee laziness and hate ease
It took years of hard work and perseverance for Jacob and many other biblical characters. So it is utopian to sit about doing nothing while expecting for financial success without putting in any effort.
God is challenging. Additionally, it does not promote laziness. Our Lord Jesus Christ was surrounded by people involved in the Jewish community at the time, in the selection of His followers. To become wealthy for God is to dislike laziness and work hard.
3. Have an attitude of integrity and loyalty towards money
Your attitude toward money will determine whether or not the Lord will bestow vast wealth on you. Remember, “he who is faithful in the smallest things is also faithful in the great,” and “he who is unjust in the smallest things is also unjust in the huge.” Luke 16:10 (KJV) (KJV).
God is not searching for wealthy individuals who will bring shame to the body of Christ. Thus, the best approach to become rich for God is to have a testimony that respects him in the management of our riches or the things provided to us.
4. Avoid greed
Ecclesiastes 5:10
“He who loves money is not satisfied with money, and he who loves riches does not enjoy it. This again is vanity.Â
The Bible is clear on the subject: we will never be wealthy if we are greedy. In other words, if the pursuit of material and financial items is motivated by a desire for money, we will never benefit from it. As a result, we will never become wealthy for God.
5. To serve God through his possessions
Our ability to accumulate riches will benefit the Kingdom of God if it is driven by a strong desire to advance God’s work among humanity. Then, by supporting evangelization efforts and missions, providing moral, monetary, and material support to widows and orphans, helping the poor and/or homeless, the building of houses of worship, etc., we become rich for God.
