The National Democratic Congress remains a strong political party in the country.
The 2020 presidential candidate for the NDC, Former President John Mahama, has been instrumental in keeping the party together.

Well, many Ghanaians are reading meanings into the efforts of Dr Kwabena Duffour’s “Ahotor” project. Is he giving gifts to the grassroots because he wants to become a President?
Dr Kwabena Duffour is a former Finance Minister from 2019 to 2013. He was succeeded by Seth Terkper. Dr Duffour attended Prempeh College, the University of Ghana for his first degree in Economics and Syracuse University where he obtained postgraduate degrees.
In 1999, IMF and World Bank Meetings named Dr Duffour as one of the best four Central Bank Governors in the world. He is an accomplished banker, politician and businessman.
Dr Duffour has helped the NDC to maintain its relevance over the past decades. He has not held back financial resources from the party grassroots.
Recently, Dr Duffour has been in the news for his “Ahotor” project and many Ghanaians have asked what he seeks to gain from this. Is he following due-party procedures to push the project for the NDC?
