Kumasi Technical University, one of the bests Technical universities in Ghana has just shared some pictures on their Facebook page to reveal the recent innovation which has taken place on their campus.
According to the post, two final year students at the university have designed an agricultural wheel sprayer as part of their projects. The main aim of this new machine is meant to reduce the use of man-power by automatically sprinkling chemical from the knapsack sprayer unto the weeds or environment. The operator of this machine only have to push the wheel and the end result will be that weeds will be sprayed automatically.
Farmers in Ghana usually carry the knapsack sprayers at their back. This has caused a lot of back pain for most farmers in the country. This new technology is said to help all farmers in the country.
This kind of initiative is what the government of Ghana, under President Akufo Addo is hoping and wishing. Being able to create and design machines on our way is the best way to be self sufficient as a country. Other countries who are self sufficient mainly produce all machines and equipments they will need in their countries. For this reason, the government of Ghana has invested a lot of money in a sector in Ghana’s Education known as TVET.
TVET Institutions are mainly aimed at training the youths to become creators and technical geniuses for the Ghanaian economy. The youths have a lot of talents but the resource to explore them is the problem in the country.
