Ghanaian deported from UAE, Stephen Kudom, has disclosed that some Ghanaians there allegedly sell their passports to Nigerians in some states in UAE.
Following the ban of Nigerians from entering the UAE, Stephen stated in an interview with DJ Nyaami on SVTV Africa that they have resorted to using Ghanaian passports.
According to the reporter, the Ghanaians who sell it are usually those who have been disappointed by travel agents and need the money to survive.
“It is a big business in Dubai. The Nigerians have a way of inserting their picture on it because companies don’t employ those holding Nigerian passports. That is why they buy ours.
We’ve also heard that some Nigerians come to Ghana to apply for a passport, but it’s just hearsay for now,” he said.
According to Stephen, the Ghanaians who sell their passports visit the Ghana Embassy for Travel certificates when they want to come to Ghana.
“Ghanaians sell it because they have been disappointed by agents who promised them jobs. You have to pay for bed space, and it is expensive.
I know someone who allows his wedded wife to have sex with others for money to survive. They have no money for food or bed space, and he has no option,” Stephen added.
